I would like to introduce myself. I am Judson Miller, the new high school art teacher at Bradford. I look forward to this school year and can't wait for the opportunity to meet all of you!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I received my B.F.A. in Art Education from Western Michigan University and my Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Besides loving to share my passion for art with young people, I also enjoy photography and water sports. Beyond my skills and teaching qualifications, I bring a positive, upbeat outlook into the classroom and strive to create a safe environment that supports learning and exploration. My genuine love for each student is reflected in my positive, affirming classroom management approach.
I know that parent involvement and encouragement is key to each student's success in school. I sincerely hope we can all work together to support each other this year. One of the ways I know you can help in my classroom is to contribute additional art supplies and I will be letting you know from time to time what is needed. Thank you in advance for your help!
Art continues to be a powerful way to communicate throughout the world. My goal for this year consists of showing students the importance of the arts in our culture. Every student will have many opportunities to explore a variety of mediums and processes, so that they can learn how to expressively share their ideas through their own art work.
This is going to be an exciting year and I can't wait to get started. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, I am available for phone calls and meetings (by appointment please) each day after school.
